Marley spent many hours at the shop as we renovated the space and prepared for the opening; but he NEVER got in the way, or brushed up against wet paint, or helped pull up the carpet, or tried to eat a nail, or had an accident on the floor, or stole our tools, or ate a slice of pizza.  Nope!  He was an absolute angel.
At home, Marley always keeps an eye on the feeders, but he wonders why the birds fly away from the windowsill when he taps on the glass.  He just wants to play with them!
Marley joined our family three months before the shop opened back in 2007. What were we thinking???  Getting a puppy while opening a new business certainly was a challenge; but we wouldn't trade a minute of those busy, exciting times.
This is little Marley the day we brought him home in August, 2007.
Marley enjoys exploring the great outdoors.
"What are flowers?  Why can't I eat them?"
Marley loves to tag along while I fill the feeders at the shop, especially when there's snow on the ground!
This is Marley in December, 2008, at 1 1/2 years old.  Having never had a Havana Silk Dog before, we could only hope that all we read about the breed was true.  We were not disappointed!  Marley is a small, sturdy dog with an extremely sweet, friendly disposition; soft-as-silk fur; and almond-shaped eyes.  Our little guy is smart as a whip and  has absolutely no interest in dominance whatsoever.  He exists simply to play, and he eagerly learns any game you teach him.  His kennel name, Bydand No Problem Mon, suits his carefree, cheerful personality perfectly!
Marley, at age 2, is sillier than ever and insists upon living 99% of his life with a toy in his mouth.  This toy, one of his favorites, used to be a cute, stuffed lobster before hours of affection transformed it into a limp mass, devoid of half its stuffing.
Here's our little guy in December 2009 at age 2 1/2.  How handsome he looks fresh from the groomer wearing his Christmas kerchief.  His soft, silky coat is fully grown in now so no more tangles.    He's a sweetie, and Santa was extra good to him!
Our precious, 4-year-old Marley in August, 2011.  We gave him this tiny, stuffed bone the day we picked him up from the breeder back in August, 2007; and it's been one of his favorite toys ever since.  He even takes it with him when he goes outside!
